Karen VanAnrooy, DVM

Dr. VanAnrooy grew up in St. Joseph, Michigan, and graduated from Michigan State University in 1979. She moved to St. Louis after graduation, and worked at Stonegate Animal Hospital and Webster Groves Animal Hospital. Dr. VanAnrooy moved to Southern Illinois in 1988, where she worked at Northgate Animal Hospital. After living in Colorado for 2 1/2 years, she returned to the Metro East area. Dr. VanAnrooy has owned and operated Edwardsville Pet Hospital since 2000. She has two German Shepherds, 6 cats, 2 Angus cows, and 10 Arabian horses. Her husband, Jeff, owns and runs Shepherd Hills Arabians, a horse boarding facility north of Highland, Illinois. 

Amy Mueller, DVM

Dr. Mueller was born and raised in Belleville, IL. After receiving her undergraduate degree from SIUE, she worked as a veterinary assistant in the St. Louis area and northern California, where she met her husband. Soon after they married, Dr. Mueller decided to take a leap of faith and attend veterinary school at St. Matthew's University at Grand Cayman Island in the British West Indies. She spent her clinical year at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. After graduation, Dr. Mueller returned to southern Illinois to be close to family and friends. She has been with Edwardsville Pet Hospital since February 2010.

Dr. Mueller enjoys spending time away from work with her new son, husband, parents, friends, and three cats.

Veronica Schwartz, DVM

Dr. Schwartz was born and raised in Centralia, IL, with three older sisters. She attended St. Mary Grade School and Centralia High School. Her Undergraduate Degree was obtained at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, where she majored in Biomedical Sciences and Minored in Chemistry. She is a 2011 Cum Laude graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Schwartz currently resides in Highland, IL, to be close to work, friends, and family. She enjoys spending time with her French Bulldog, Rocko; two nephews; and niece.
